Le Chardon is the epitome of traditional chalet chic – a hugely cosy old stone and wood building, filled with gorgeous scarlet and grass green tweedy/tartan sofas, throws and wooden mountain and farming paraphernalia. A gloriously large fireplace completes the picture, with fabulous views from the living space – just perfect. Resting elegantly on the side of the Solaise Mountain, it is a haven for keen skiers of all abilities. Each of its ten en-suite bedrooms has floor to ceiling windows offering uninterrupted views of the Manchet Valley and Vanoise National Park.

Did we take advantage of the skiing whilst we were there?  YES we did. The Chardon team had conveniently ordered snow the day before we arrived and requested blue sky and sunshine for our first day skiing. In a word "unbelievable."  23rd April and we were skiing fresh powder of the side of the Grande Motte Glacier with smiles from ear to ear. All in all a fantastic couple of days with excellent service, great skiing and wonderful accommodation.
