Cortina d'Ampezzo

One of the most famous and stylish Italian resorts with a great skiing pedigree. Host to the Winter Olympics in 1956 and a regular venue on the Alpine World Cup circuit, this lovely resort offers great skiing. Cortina d'Ampezzo is one of the closest resorts to Venice and is a regular weekend haunt of the glitzy city dwellers. The town has a stylish centre with cobbled street and a host of boutique shops all along the pedestrianised Corso Italia. This is the place to ski and to be seen.
