The Musilac Mont-Blanc Festival set in Chamonix Mont-Blanc is a fledgling event in its second edition. If it becomes as successful as the Zermatt Unplugged event it will be a welcome addition to the growing list of alpine music festivals. The Musilac Mont-Blanc pop-rock music festival will host around twenty bands over 3 days, including three headline artists. The festival will take place in the Bois du Bouchet. With a spectacular panoramic view of Mont Blanc as the back drop, it will rival the Montreal Jazz Festival and Zermatt Unplugged for taking place in spectacular settings. The Musiclac has a potential to attract and welcome over 15,000 spectators each evening. The venue is the perfect setting for the newest and most exiting music festival in the Haute Savoie. You best look sharp if you fancy attending as the festival kicks off on the April 26th and winds up on April 28th 2019. The headliners are The Kooks and the Editors with honourable mentions for Rodrigo y Gabriela, Los Negresses Vertes.
Unfortunately you have missed this years edition of Zermatt Unplugged. This acoustic music festival has evolved into an unforgettable part of the Swiss music scene. I must qualify that ‘acoustic’ is a pretty loose description. That was the initial intention but nowadays electronic music is part of the programme too. The first edition took place in 2007 and Zermatt Unplugged is steadily building a reputation to vie with the Granddaddy of all music festivals in the region, The Montreux Jazz Festival. The kudos for appearing here is so unique that guests gladly return to Zermatt in April time after time. This years successful event included Boy George & Culture club, James Bay, Tom Odell, Michael Kiwanuka & Ronnie Scott’s All Stars & Guests.
Coming up on the rails is the Snowbombing Music Festival which takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria. You’re too late for this event too as this years 4th edition took place between the 8th to the 13 April 2019. Snowbombing is mainly an Electronic, House and Urban music festival. Snowbombing is Europe's largest show on snow, showcasing a diverse music lineup on the renowned slopes of Austria's Mayrhofen ski resort each April. The 2019 lineup featured sets from Stormzy, Fatboy Slim, Andy C and Bicep, who all performed across slopeside stages, igloo raves, street parties and enchanted forests.Turning the après up to full volume and taking full advantage of world-class pistes, Snowbombing has become a deserving scene-leader and an unmissable six days.
