Too cool for (ski) school? Pro-Rider lessons are not your run-of-the-mill ski lessons. These are groups aimed squarely at 12-18 year olds who are already competent skiers. The Pro-rider groups are designed to test the mettle of your teens and teach them new skills in the park, on the race-piste and off-piste too. Your teens will have the opportunity to hit the boxes and jumps in the snow-parks, learn to ski switch and even try their hand at their first 180s and 360s. They will learn the skills they need to ski in powder as well as techniques to handle the gates on the race piste. And, they’ll love it, learning amongst like-minded teens of a similar standard and meeting up with you later in the day to impress you with their new skills and stories from their day.
What about after skiing? Not yet old enough to hit the bars for apres ski...or are they? The Folie Douce bars in Val d’Isere, Meribel and Val Thorens are great places to take your teens. With a live music show showcasing DJs, musicians and dancers in costume dancing on the tabletops for 2 hours every afternoon of the week teenagers can really feel part of the party. Or why not treat them to a sledging experience? Several resorts now have purpose made sledging tracks which are not for the faint hearted. Send them sledging on the Mission Black Forest experience in Meribel, a 3km track with 28 corners or the Luge in Courchevel, a new route that borders the Tovets piste and descends all the way down into Courchevel Village. For some indoor action or relaxation there is always the Aquamotion centre in Courchevel with something for everyone from wave pools and slides to relaxation areas.
Oxygene are a leading English-speaking ski school operating in the Tarentaise Valley in France in Val d’Isere, La Plagne, Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens.
